First we know that each side of a square is 1/4 foot.
Now we find out how many squares are in a large piece of fabric.
2 feet of fabric is equal to 1 + 1 which is equal to 4/4 + 4/4 = 8/4 feet
8/4 = 8 * (1/4)
There are 8 squares in a large piece of fabric.
If there are 8 squares in 1 scarf and 8 squares in 1 large piece of fabric, than 1 large piece of fabric is equal to 1 scarf.
If Doris wants to make 7 scarves, she must buy 7 large pieces of fabric.
