We know, the voltage is the amount of energy lost or gained by 1 C of charge when it moves from one point of the circuit to another. Thus 100 V means 100J of energy is lost or gained by 1 C of charge,
Since the charge of an electron = 1.6 X 10^-19 C, Energy needed = Amount of charge X Energy gained by 1 C charge (i.e. Voltage)
= (1.6 X 10^-19) X 100 J
= 1.6 X 10^-17 J
= 100 eV
