College level? And where should you invent gadgets? What are some gadets we need in electrical engineering that if one invented, that person will earn lots of money? If invented, how much money can they earn? Also, does the electronic homework problem solver already exists right now? What I meant is that if this isn't invented yet, I'm plannning to invent a new gadget that solves all the homework problems. Do you think people will buy this? How much money will one earn?

The question is very generic in nature. However, depending on the complexity of the intended gadget, the knowledge base as well as skills / expertise vary from a Technician Level to Expert Engineer Level having Masters or even PhD qualification.
The level of knowledge is equal to the success of the invention.
