Question

In each figure only one side of each regular pentagon is shared with another pentagon the length of each side is 1 cm if the pattern continues, what is the perimeter of a figure with 6 pentagons

If you doodle a picture, you shall see that it is one pentagon with a pentagon attached to each of the five sides. 

The center pentagon does not contribute to the perimeter. Each of the five surrounding pentagons provide 4 cm. to the perimeter (the fifth side is attached to the center).

 

The perimeter is 5 · 4 or 20 cm.
