Is it possible to do research in both Computer Architecture and Security?

I just finished with my MSc in Computer Science and Engineering (Security study-line) with a thesis on cache timing attacks on virtualized environments. I also have an MEng in Electronic and Electrical Engineering. I am interested in both Computer Architecture and Security from a hardware perspective. I am now considering taking an academic path, probably starting with some research assistance and then doing a PhD. Is there a point where these research fields meet? What topics represent a good mesh between the two fields? Are there companies that are combining these fields?

In viewing your level of academics, course history, and years of educational learning and commitment. You need a brain break. Just a little humor. Your development in education is heavy duty, intense, and directionally specific in categories, you want to combine in a specific way. The greater impotance is to ask yourself some pertinent questions, such as, “When I apply for a job, what do I want to do?” It may apply to your degrees, It may not. 1) An educator 2) A professor on the ground or adjunct (online) 3) University tutor, educationsl assistant, or etc. “Do you want to consult?” Suggestion: Consider joining LinkedIn for free or for cost if affordable and speak with one of their recruiterssssssss...! Deans in your degreed area can help you list various jobs and careers. Get each list from your two technical degrees and view both list. Then with your English degree you may want to blog your discoveries. Good luck, KH
