How do I put "(-4,0) , parallel to y=3/4x-5" into point slope form.

This is an example of one of my math problems i was given for homework. If you show me this one i could do the same for the rest of my homework.

Presley, parallel lines have the same slope as the given line. The differences are that they have different x and y intercepts.

 

y-0=3/4(x--4)

y=3/4*(x+4)

y=3/4x+3/4*4

y=3/4x+3

point slope form= y- y₁ = m (x - x₁)

m= slope and (x₁,y₁) is your point

parallel lines have the same slope so your slope is 3/4 from the other equation

plug it in:
y-0=3/4(x-(-4))

y=3/4x+3
