Alright....if Ron only has dimes and quarters, than the only way he is going to make $0.65 is by having at least four dimes and one quarter to give you your $0.65 and that uses up 5 coins.
Now, Ron has 14 more coins that needs to total $2.00. Because we are trying to make an even $2.00 with dimes and quarters now we need to make sure our total number of quarters used makes either $0.50 or an even dollar....otherwise we'll come up short or over $2.00. The only combination of coins left (remembering that he only has 14 more) is going to be to have ten dimes ($1.00) and four quarters ($1.00).
