Pacta sunt servanda in Latin translates to "Agreements must be kept"
It is used in the civil law realm and primary deals with the principle that private contracts that contain clauses are law between the parties, and implies that nonfulfillment of the obligations is a breach of the pact. (i.e. breach of contract)
