The first essential thing is this question is knowing conversions. 1 foot is equal to 12 inches. So in that same regard, 2 feet are equal to 24 inches. If we are looking at from two different angles this question can be answered two ways. If 2 feet are equal to 24 inches, then 24 inches subtract 2 inches is 22 inches wider. But a small pivotal component of the question asks how many times wider. If we are being technical then we can divide 24 inches by 2 inches and it would be 12 inches times wider. Both can be explained logically without it being one answer.
