You need more information to solve this problem. Since a rectangle can have any number of lengths for each side, it is hard to determine the length and width with only the area, since l x w = a.
A possible answer could be a perimeter of 12 2/8, with a length of 2 and a width of 4 1/8, since multiplying these numbers would give you an area of 8 1/4, but there could be many answers as long as when the length and width are multiplied you get 8 1/4.
