tom says i am half way through reading my book, if i read 84 more pages I will 2/3 way through the book, how many pages are in the book

x/2 = what you have read

x/2 + 84 = what you shall read

 

x/2+ 84 = 2x/3 

3x/6 + 84 = 4x/6

84 = x/6

504 = x

 

The book has 504 pages.
