Multiply with 7

I have a question for 3rd grade.  Please explain for me.  I quite not understand.

How many more Paul's of food do the Zebras eat in one week than the lions?

     Animal              Number of Pails

      Lions                       4

      Elephants                9

      Zebras                     7

 

 

 

Answer 1

Zebras eat more than lions.

Zebras eat 7 pails while lions eat 4.

Zebras eat 3 ( 7 - 4 ) more pails than lions.

 

Now is this for one day? If it is, then 3 must be multiplied by 7 (days in a week) to get 21 pails.
