UBE Bar Exam Tutor- Just Call Bo for Bar Prep
The Uniform Bar Exam is administered 2 times a year, once in Feb and once in July.
The Exam is split into two sections Essay Portion (MEE/MPT) and Multiple Choice (MBE)
Each section is out of 200 points. The Exam is scored out of 400.
Each jurisdiction has its own cut off score for a "passing grade".
Most jurisdictions are 260, 266(NY), or 270. As long as your score in both sections add up to more than the passing grade in a particular jurisdiction, you pass! There is no cut off score requirement for each section of the exam.
For example: If I did horrible on the MEE portion (100/200) but I get a 160/200 on MBE, the total 260 is sufficient passing grade for a 260 Jurisdiction.
CALIFORNIA is not part of the UBE, they administer their own California essays and PT for essay part, but California uses the 200 MBE questions for the multiple choice part.
What is tested
MBE Topics include the CORE 7 that is taught in the first year of US Law schools: Torts, Criminal Law/Criminal Procedure, Evidence, Contracts, Civil Procedure, Property, Constitutional Law.
