In Geometry the complement of an angle is the angle whose measure added to the first angle will be 90°.
So we ask ourselves, What number added to 32 equals 90. We translate this into the equation
n + 32 = 90. In order to solve we subtract 32 from both sides
-32 -32
n = 58. Then we plug that back in to our equations to check.
58 + 32 =90
Our answer is 58°
The next type of angles you will learn about will be SUPPLEMENTARY angles. Supplementary angles add up to 180° (a straight line).
C comes before S in the alphabet so Complementary angles add to 90° while supplementary angles add to 180°
