Hi Gene,

Your goal is to isolate your variable, t.

1. Get the constant terms onto the same side

5.6 - 4.24t = 11.6

Subtract 5.6 from both sides.

-4.24t = 6

2. Divide both sides by -4.24

t = - 1.415  (rounded)
