Hello, Jade
Ok, now that I have the dimensions I can help you out. First let us do the hypotenuse of the two trianangles. Since this is a 45-45-90 triangle, it means that it hypotenuse should be 15 times the sq. rt. of 2. So, in total the two hypotenuse will be equal to 30 times the sq.rt. 2. The portion of the ride that is level should be 1000-15-15. Since we are dealing with isosceles triangles. So, the missing leg of both triangles is 15 each. So, to find your answer add (30 times sq.rt.2)+(1000-30)= 42.4+970=1,012.4 meters. Both of slope sections are 15 sq.rt. 2= 21.2. The flat section is 970 because you need to subtract the bases of the two triangles, which is 15 on the right and 15 on the right. I hope this helps.
