Hello Rachel.
First of all, I must apologize, but I do not have the square root sign. So, I will be using sq.rt. to indicate the square root. In addition, I will break down the problem for you, and then I will combine the like terms. Using the FOIL method
(sq.rt. 2+4)(7 sq.rt.2-6)
(sq.rt.2)(7)(sq.rt.2)= 2(7)= 14
(sq.rt2)(-6). = -6 sq.rt. 2
(4)(7)(sq.rt.2). = 28 sq.rt. 2
(4)(-6). = -24
Now , combining like terms, we have
(-6 sq.rt.2)+(28 sq.rt.2)= 22 sq.rt.2
(14)+(-24)= -10
So, our final answer is 22sq.rt.2-10
Well, Rachel there you have it. I hope this helps. Take care, and please rate my answer :)
