So we want a multiple of 6 and a multiple of 9 whose sum is 78.
Make a table
# of pages with 6 stamps # of stamps accounted for # of stamps remaining divisible by 9
1 6 72 YES
2 12 66 NO
3 18 60 NO
4 24 54 YES
5 30 48 NO
6 36 42 NO
7 42 36 YES
8 48 30 NO
9 54 24 NO
10 60 18 YES
11 66 12 NO
12 72 6 NO
13 78 0 NO****
The rows marked with YES are viable options.
Notice the last row, there are NO pages that contain 9 stamps, despite the fact that 0 is divisible by 9, as
the problem states there MUST be at least one page containing 9 stamps
