How does multiplying cosA by its inverse isolate A?

Cos does not have any numerical meaning by itself, but cosA has a distinct value. If we multiply that value by its inverse, I can understand how we produce an answer of one. But how does that process isolate the variable A?

Thanks.

I am new to this website, and I may not be doing this right. I need to add clarification to my question and request another answer. How do I do that?

You should be able to just go back and re-post a new question, or you can post a new comment/clarification here.

Probably best to post it as a new question though!
