In miss thomas's class there are 5 girls for every 4 boys and one-fifth of the girls wear glasses. There are 3girls and two boys in the class who wear glasses. What fraction of all the pupils in the class wear glasses?

Let G = girls and B = Boys

(1/5)G = 3 => G = 15

G/B = 5/4 => 15/B = 5/4 => B = 12

Total class = 15 + 12 = 27

Glasses wearers = 5 so that fraction of glasses wearers is 5/27
