L = 5+3w

LW = 50 ft^2

= (5+3w)w = 3w^2 +5w = 50

3w^2 +5w -50 = 0

(3w -10)(w+5) = 0

w = 10/3 = 3 1/3 feet wide

L = 50/(10/3) = 50x3/10 = 15 feet Long
