child randomly draws 2 slips, without replacement

what is probability the kid gets the same 2 numbers??

12 ways to get 2 of the same number

divide 12 over total number of ways to get 2 numbers

12/4(48-1) = 12/188 = 3/47

or,

1st number could be any number 1 to 12

only 3 slips to match it out of 47 possible draws

P(matching numbers) = 3/47
