asked 11/18/18Jake can paint a room in 6 hours. Sam can do it twice as fast. How long will take if they work together?
I will like to know if I'm using the correct equation
t/6 + t/3 = 1
18( t/6 + t/3 = 1)
3t + 6t = 18
9t = 18
t = 2 hours

Jake's rate is 1/6.
Sam's rate is 1/3
(1/6)x + (1/3)x = 1
3x + 6x = 18
9x = 18
x = 2 hours
In 2 hours, Jake has painted 2/6 of the house and in two hours, Sam has paited 4/6 of the house.
