Just do the distributive property the regular way. Just remember that i*i = -1. So in this case, this is what you have
6(1-3i)- (11-17i)=
6-18i-11+17i Remember -(11-17i) think of this as -1(11-17i)
-i-5 Combining like terms
-5-i Rewriting it in the Standard Form
So, remember if you add or subtract complex numbers just think treat them just like a variable.
