if 3x²=12, what is x²y?

Solve for x² in the first equation:  3x²=12

                                                   x²=12/3

                                                   x²=4

Use this value for x² in the second equation and solve:   x²y=4y. 

Unless there is something that x²y is suppose to equal, the answer is 4y.
