Hi, Kathy.
Okay, so (x,y) = ( x1 + a/a+b(x2 - x1) , y1 + a/a+b(y2 - y1) )
So a:b = 1:5
(x1,y1) = (-6, -2)
(y1, y2) = (6, 7)
If you plug in those numbers for the variables, you should get:
(x,y) = (-4, -1/2)
