Greetings! Lets solve this shall we!?
If f(x) = 2x - 1 then the range(y) when the domain(x) = 0 is
y = 2(0) - 1 = -1.
A) So the range is y = -1. In interval notation, the range point is (0, -1).
B) Since the range is y = 5, then the domain is 5 = 2x - 1 such that
5 = 2x - 1
+1 +1
---------------
2x = 4
-- --
2 2
x = 2. Then the domain point is x = 2 when y = 5. So, the domain point is (2,5).
I hope this helped!
