h + f = 120 (Hannah and Francine have $120)
h + p = 230 (Hannah and Peter have $230)
p = 6f (Peter has 6 times as much as Francine)
We have a value for p, so plug it in:
h + f = 120
h + 6f = 230
We can use the elimination mthod here. Multiply the first equation by -1:
-h - f = -120
h + 6f = 230
h + 6f = 230

5f = 110
Divide by 5:
f = 22
Now you can solve either (or both to check your answer) of the following to find Hannah's money:
h + 22 = 120
h + (6 * 22) = 230
