The equation to solve for the volume of a cylinder is
V = πr2h (if radius is given) OR V = πD2h / 4 (if diameter is given)
You haven't stated the units for the diameter and the height, so I will use inches (in) as an example. You can substitute the units in the answer below if known. I will also use the value of pi as 3.14.
V = πD2h / 4
= (3.14 x (5 in)2 x 8 in) / 4 = 157 in3
Since the can is 2/3 empty, it means that it is 1/3 full. Therefore, the volume of the remaining coffee in the can is
V = 1/3 x (157 in3) = 52.3 in3
