I was asked to fiil in the bkank by the correct answer choice. The answer can be 7, 6, 5, or 3. I saw on my answer sheet that the answer is 6 but can you please explain how to get the answer because I am very clueless. Thanks and have a wonderful day!

The answer would be 7.    If you connect 3 of the corners of the square to make a triangle, the answer would be 3 common points.  If you use one corner of the square and two points outside different sides, you would get 5.  If you use 3 points outside different sides, you would get 6 common points.
