-6x(1) - 6x(-8x) - x

-6x + 48x² - x

-7x + 48x²

 

The highest degrees go first, so 48x² - 7x

 

Let's check using a real number. How about x = 2?

 

-6(2)(1 - 8(2)) - 2

-12(1 - 16) - 2

-12(-15) - 2

180 - 2

178

 

48(2²) - 7(2)

48(4) - 14

192 - 14

178

 

Boom.
