An airplane dropped a flare from a height of 3640 feet above a lake. How many seconds did it take for the flare to reach the water?

I think this is a difficult problem because as the flare falls, it burns (combusts), and, the products of combustion, CO2 and H2O are escaping the system of the flare.  And, the force of the flame from the flare could add or subtract to/from the velocity.
