An exterior angle has the same measure as the sum of the two remote interior angles.

 

171 -n = (6n -20) + (5n + 11)

 

171 - n = 11n - 9

 

180 = 12n

so plug 15 back in for n in the equation z =(171 - n)

 

z = 156
