diffrence b/w hper&para bola

In a parabola, a line passing through the focus and perpendicular to the directrix is called an “axis of symmetry.” When the parabola is intersected by the point on the “axis of symmetry,” it is referred to as the “vertex.”

are only those parabola which satisfies above condition other are hyperbolas?
