6x-4y=56 =>/2, 3x-2y = 28 ......(1)

2x+6y=-40 =>/2, x+3y = -20 ......(2)

(2)*3 - (1): 11y = -88

y = -8

x = -20-3y = 4

Answer: x = 4, y = -8
