Since this is already factored and set equal to zero, we can use the zero product property. In other words, we take each factor and set it equal to zero:
x-1=0 and 5x+1=0.
Now all that is left to do is solve each piece (move the number to the other side and then get x alone by dividing). Both answers you get for x are your final answer.
