What is the maximum/minimum value of x^2-5x+6=0

I would like to know the maximum value and minimum value of x^2-5x+6=0, If I can just get a direct answer with the reason why that would be great!, Please and thank you!

This is a concave-up parabola, since the coefficient of x² is positive.  Therefore there is no maximum.  The minimum is at the vertex of the parabola, which is at

 

x = -(-5)/[2(1)]

 

Evaluate the function at this value of x to get the minimum.
