Order of Operations: PEMDAS
1. Parenthesis
2. Exponents
3. Multiplication/Division : left to right as encountered
4. Addition/Subtraction
Within parenthesis, if there are several operations,
follow the same order on "emdas"
4 + 5 * 2 = 4 + 10 = 14
**************************
4 + 3*7 - (6*2 - 7)2 - 4 ÷ (2 - 3)
First do inside parenthesis
= 4 + 3*7 - (12 - 7)2 - 4 ÷ (-1)
= 4 + 3 * 7 - 52 - 4 ÷ (-1)
Then exponents
= 4+ 3 * 7 - 25 - 4 ÷ (-1)
Then multiplication & division, left to right
= 4 + 21 - 25 - (-4)
= 4
