Assuming that the 1/4 of the salary left did not include the $765 he "saved"
Mr. Cheong has 1/4 of his salary left so what he spent, saved, etc., adds to 3/4 of his salary
3s/4 = 765 + s/6 + 5s/11
The lowest common multiple of 4, 6, 11 is 132 which is:
4(33), 6(22), 11(12)
Multiply through by 132
132(3s/4) = 132(765 + s/6 + 5s/11)
33(3s) = 100980 + 22s + 12(5s)
99s = 100980 + 22s + 60s
99s = 100980 + 82s
17s = 100980
s - 100980/17
s = $5,940 salary for the month

My apologies. I missed where it said 5/11 OF THE REMAINDER.
I worked it as 5/11 of the whole salary.
