Write the set of points from -2 to 4 but excluding 1 and 4 as a set of union intervals

I believe it is (-2,1]U[1,4]

 

( parentheses go next to numbers that are included, and [ brackets go next to numbers that are excluded.

 

You may want to check that though; I haven't done this in a while. Just search "set bracket notation"

parenthrses means the value is not part of the solution and a bracket means included
