Josh,
In order to find out how much each shirt cost before the discount, you have to add the discount back into the total. Each shirt was discounted by $3.66, so the total discount was 3 x 3.66, or 10.98. Add that to what she paid and you get the cost for 3 shirts. Divide that by three, and you will get the cost for each shirt.
