Xm-2m if x=-2 and m=-3

I know answer is 12 but not sure exactly how it was done

If someone can help me figure out step by step on how the answer is 12

Xm-2m if x=-2 and m=-3

 

Just replace the x with -2 and the m with -3:

 

  X   m  - 2  m

(-2)(-3) - 2(-3)

    6      -  (-6) = 6 + 6 = 12
