Solve the the square root of 5-2x+5 = 12...

I'm very confused on how to go about finding the right answer. I tried solving it and came up with -67, but I was told it was the wrong answer, and that the true answer is -22. I wish I could show my work on here, but if anyone can help me out with this, it'd be a great help. Thanks!

1. (√5-2x)+5 = 12
2. √5-2x = 12-5 = 7
3. Square both sides
4. (√5-2x)² = 7²
5. 5-2x = 49
6. -2x = 49-5 = 44
7. x = 44/-2
8. x = -22
