1 yard = 3 feet = 36 inches

3 yards = 9 feet = 108 inches

18 3/8 = 147/8

 

108/(147/8) = 108(8/147) = 5.9

 

Since the 0.9 doesn't make a whole box, Bob can make 5 boxes.
