Let 2w + 5 = the length

A = lw

63 = w(2w + 5)

63 = 2w² + 5w

2w² + 5w - 63 = 0

(2w - 9)(w + 7) = 0

2w - 9 = 0        or    w + 7 = 0

2w = 9             or        w = -7, illogical answer

w = 9/2 = 4 1/2 feet

length = 2w + 5 = 2(9/2) + 5

length = 14 feet
