On the blueprint of a house, 48mm represent 7 m. The length of the living room is 60mm on the blueprint. What is the actual length of the living room?

7 m = 7000 mm

 

Your scale is 48:7000 = 6:875

Note:  48/7000 = (6*8)/(8*875) = 6/875

 

6/875 = 60/x

 

Since the numerator went up by a factor of 10, so will the denominator

 

x = 8750 mm = 8.75 m
