If the x intercept is a, it can also be written as (a,0) without requiring the words "x intercept"
If the y intercept is b, it can also be written as(0,b) without requiring the words "y intercept"
If you just say "a" is an intercept, it's not clear which axis it lies on--so it's only OK to give a single value when it's identified by which axis applies.

I would say b is the y-coordinate of the y-intercept.09/04/19
