Assuming the problem is √(4x - 5) > 2:
Square both sides to remove the square root:
(4x - 5) > 4
Add 5 to both sides, then divide by 4 to get
x > 9/4.
If the problem is (√4x) - 5 > 2:
Add 5 to both sides, then square:
(√4x) > 7
4x > 49
Now divide by 4 to get x > 49/4
