Two parallel lines have the same slope

 

Rearrange equations to y = mx+b slope intercept form

 

3y = 4x-1, y=(4/3)x-(1/3) where m = 4/3 is the slope

qy=x+3 ,   y=(1/q)x+(3/q) where m = 1/q is the slope

 

Then, (4/3)=(1/q), 4q=3, q=3/4
