more than the dog with the middle weight. The lightest dog weighs 3 pounds less than the dog with the
middle weight. Let x represent the weight of the dog with the middle weight. Write an equation that can be
used to find x?

weight of heaviest dog = x + 5

weight of lightest dog = x-3

 

 

Sum of the 3 weights, divided by 3 equals 63

 

[(x+5)+x+(x-3)]/3 = 63

 

3x + 2 = 3(63)
